I hope that all of you had a wonderful summer!! School is off to a great start, if I say so myself. I am so happy to see familiar faces, and I am also so glad to see so many new faces at our school and in my class! I am looking forward to this year and the many opportunities that it brings. Please know that I am here to work with students and parents as a team, and I will do everything that I can to make this an enjoyable, successful year for your family! Never hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns. I am always glad to help!
Ok...Is anyone else as surprised as I am that we are already halfway through September? This first nine weeks is flying by!! In fact, our midterm progress reports will go home this Tuesday, September 20. Please be on the lookout for these, as I request that you sign these and return them to school as soon as possible.
In the past week or so, we have started using Chromebooks in the classroom. The students seem to really enjoy these so far! This should really help familiarize students with computer processes and help them better understand how to navigate the web for research and other activities. I would love for you to share stories with me if your child has mentioned any benefits from the Chromebooks to you at home! I must say that my time so far this year with this class has been precious! This is an amazing class full of fun personalities! As always, please feel free to contact me anytime! Students started out the first day of 4th grade with an Olympic competition. Students enjoyed races outdoors, as well as team games indoors. Our winning team even received gold medals! Throughout the year, we plan to build more on the idea of teamwork and how important it is to work with and encourage one another!
We are leaning about explorers. We are enjoying everything. In math we are learning about
As you can see from the exciting picture above, my students from last year were able to attend my wedding over the summer!! What a fun day!! It meant so much to me for so many of them to come. It is certainly a memory that I will never forget!!
It's all about fractions in math! Fractions are an important concept to understand, as we can use them in everyday life. The students will get to practice with fractions over the next few weeks. We will be comparing fractions, putting fractions on a number line, and adding and subtracting fractions. Just a tip- knowing multiplication facts will only make fractions more fun!
